Phillips Reef

A commonly dived site that consists of a large hard reef with some deep gulleys and steps on the east and south sides. The shore-side is shallower and flatter. The shallower parts are covered in redbait. Raggies frequent the gulleys on the outer edges and can be rather moody in the summer months especially toward spearfishermen. Fans, bryozoans and numerous other life-forms make for an entertaining dive.

Hazards A strong N-to-S current runs in east winds; very rough when a SE blows into it. Big waves break here in a large swell

    Beautiful reef full of coral life and vast amounts of fish species. Even if you do not get your desired fish on this spot, the beauty alone will make your day.
