Limestone Reef

Limestone Reef is a shallow ledge reef that runs parallel to the shore, transected by the very end of Vetch's Pier and extending in a north easterly direction. The flat top of the reef sits at about 3 m below the surface with the bottom at about 7 m. It is dived from shore by entering on the outside of Vetch's Pier and swimming across the sand. There are a few holes and crevices that reward close inspection, often sheltering coral banded shrimps, lionfish and juvenile angelfish and butterflyfish. Always dive this reef with a marker buoy, as it is one of the reefs fishermen visit to catch live bait.
