The white kingfish is a streamlined jack recognised by its thick, fleshy lips and a single series of blunt, conical teeth in each jaw. Like others in its group it is a fast coastal and reef predator that runs hard when hooked, and it is taken by both anglers and spearos where it patrols reef edges and open water.
