The eastern little tuna, or kawakawa, is a compact member of the tuna tribe found through the warm Indo-West Pacific. Like its relatives it is a swift, schooling predator that ranges through coastal and near-shore waters.
It shares the streamlined, scaleless body and finlet-lined tail of the true tunas, and offers spirited sport for its size on light gear.
