Habitat
Coral and rocky reefs

The bluebarred parrotfish is a common, wide-ranging parrotfish of Indo-Pacific reefs, named for the blue barring across its scales over a blue-green ground. Like all parrotfishes it uses fused, beak-like dental plates to scrape algae and coral, reaching our northern reefs from a range that extends back to the Red Sea.
